OHE Visa Applications Centers – Making the Visa Process Local
OHE Network Inc – the Overseas Hospitality Experience network – seeks US State Department approval to operate Visa Application Centers in cities that do not have a US Embassy or US Consulate office. Other countries currently authorizing application centers managed by third parties include the United Kingdom (see above photo).
SITUATION:
The State Department requires an “in-person” Interview to obtain a Visa (S.2845; section 5301). The requirement to travel to a US Embassy or consular office, depending on the location of the visa applicant, can be a significant burden. Having to travel, in some cases thousands of miles just for an interview, discourages tourists from visiting the U.S. resulting in a significant lost revenue opportunity for the United States.
